The Wyoming Foundation awards over $16,000 in grants to 15 nonprofit groups
 

July 07, 2005 The Wyoming Foundation awarded $16,000 in grants to 15 nonprofit organizations in Wyoming County that support the arts, education, and civic and economic development at their Annual Meeting held at the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center in North Java. Marty Griffith, Foundation President stated, “We are honored to recognize and support the hard work our 2005 grant recipients. These organizations are truly committed to the vision of our founder, Dr. James MacCallum, in making a difference in the lives of the residence and visitors of Wyoming County”. The Wyoming Foundation was established by Dr. James MacCallum in 1974 as a means to improve the quality of life in and around Wyoming County.
 

Grant recipients include:

bulletWarsaw Public Library - $500 for a summer reading program aimed at teens and preteens.
bulletAttica Historical Society - $500 for capital expenditures in the area of document protection and storage.
bulletDrive Out Breast Cancer Golf Tournament - $100 to benefit support and research programs of the American Cancer Society.
bulletPerry Public Library - $500 for a summer reading program.
bulletJunior Achievement - $500 for educational programs for all school districts of Wyoming County.
bulletLiteracy Volunteers - $500 for adult reading programs.
bulletHabitat for Humanity - $300 to aid in the construction of the Saltvale Road project.
bulletProject Head Start - $500 for their Health Improvement Project and Health Care Institute
bulletDonald Lockwood Elementary School - $500 for the Story Creation: From Storytelling to Story Text program.
bulletEagle Free Library - $500 for their March Into the Library program.
bulletCastile Historical Society - $500 for Phase II of their Historical Quilt Preservation program.
bulletWarsaw Historical Society - $500 to support their document protection and preservation program.
bulletWarsaw Central School/Model UN Club - $500 to support their participation in State-wide competitions debating world issues.
bulletBarkin award - $200 for the Arcade Free Library
bulletBeaver Meadow Audubon Center - $10000 multi-year grant to support their Beaver Lodges Project.
