GRANTS 2005

 The Grant Committee for the Wyoming Foundation will award grants for 2005 emphasizing preventive educational programs as well as programs that demonstrate innovative approaches to learning for talented and gifted youth.

Other programs in the county will be considered as stated in our by-laws: "grants will address charitable, scientific, literary, and educational needs of the county."

To be considered for discretionary funding by the Wyoming Foundation, a project should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  1. Have a clear sense of how it will make the area served a better place to live.
  2. Provide individuals and organizations with resources, information opportunities, and contacts as a way of promoting self-help.
  3. Encourage volunteerism and participation by the people affected.
  4. Propose creative approaches that are sufficiently simple and inexpensive so that others might learn from them and replicate them easily.
  5. Show evidence of coordination and cooperation with other appropriate organizations.
  6. Address an area of need.
  7. Be likely to accomplish its purpose or achieve sustaining support within a limited and defined period of time.
  8. Be able to generate other private or public funds.

 

LIMITATIONS:

The Wyoming Foundation generally does not contribute funds to:
Projects operating outside of our designated Wyoming County area.
Capital fund drives, endowments, loan/investment funds, and to individuals
Ongoing general operating expenses.
 
The Wyoming Foundation will not contribute discretionary funds to:
Partisan political organizations or religious projects.
Projects sponsored by organizations which have, as a substantial part of their purpose, the influencing of legislation.

Describe how the objective of the project will be accomplished, whom and how many it will serve, and plans for obtaining future funding if the project is to continue beyond the current funding period.
